The Naloxone Project Arizona Chapter

The Arizona Chapter of The Naloxone Project launched in October of 2025 after connecting with the Arizona Opioid Assistance & Referral (OAR) Line on shared naloxone-related work and objectives.

Arizona’s TNP chapter promotes naloxone access and training for all residents with a focus on at-risk populations. Using close working relationships with State and County Health Departments, healthcare facilities, Public Safety, and harm reduction groups, TNP in Arizona hopes to increase efforts and outreach to all residents and care givers throughout our state. We have successfully assisted with Emergency Departments’ naloxone distribution and continue to train First Responders and layperson about naloxone. Ongoing efforts include connecting agencies (particularly in rural communities) with overdose detection programs (ODMAP) as well as receiving and distributing government purchased naloxone kits through settlement agreements set up for the next decade.

Novel plans include increased public outreach and education with a focus on homeless, maternal, and Native American communities. With approximately five overdose deaths every day in Arizona still occurring, we are reminded about this important work, remain committed to our goals, and optimistic about success.
