What is Wyoming Now?

What is The Naloxone Project?

We are combatting the stigma behind the opioid epidemic.
Creating an equitable and sustainable medical system that provides Naloxone and saves lives.

The Naloxone Project was started in Colorado by Dr. Don Stader in 2021. Colorado now has 97% of EDs enrolled, and launched the MOMs (Maternal Overdose Matters) Initiative in August of 2022 with currently over 90% of labor and delivery units committed.

Together, HB-22-1326 and HB-20-1065 provide a pathway by which hospital-based naloxone dispensing is reimbursed by most major payers. This creates an environment in which hospital-based naloxone distribution is sustainable and not dependent on grants. In addition, many of the regulations viewed as hindrances to naloxone dispensing have been removed.
